YOUTH WRESTLING: Lyman Gilmore grapplers claim 5 individual titles at tourney

The Lyman Gilmore Middle School wrestlers had another strong showing Saturday, earning multiple individual championships and several top-five finishes at the El Dorado Hills Wrestling Invitational.

“It was a proud day to be a Bomber as our athletes represented Grass Valley with exciting matches,” Lyman Gilmore coach Tony Guerra said in an email. “Every athlete on our roster was competitive and prepared. They made us all proud. We’re one year older and one year better. We’re continuing to improve, we’re getting stronger every day.

Lyman Gilmore wrestlers that earned individual championships in their respective age and weight classes were Colton Bingham, Amara Sharp, Josh Cortes, Maddox Graves and Addison Parmenter.



Making the finals and placing second in their respective age and weight classes were Mathew Cole, James Tillotson, Cody Hardin and Arik Smart.

Also turning in solid efforts were Hannah Nelson (third place), Courtney Winters (fourth place), Jai Guerra (fifth place), Brayden Bingham (sixth place) and Arion Sharp (ninth place).
