Weaver races way to fifth, twice

CJ Weaver took home a couple fifth-place supermoto finishes from recent races at Prairie City in Rancho Cordova.

Despite losing traction on his tires last Sunday, Weaver managed to notch a fifth-place finish in the 250 Pro/Am.

He continued his racing day in the 450 class. Weaver started near the back but managed to pressure riders into making mistakes and moved up to earn fifth.

Earlier in the day, Weaver had an accident that cost him two rounds of racing but he forged forward managing a sixth-place finish in a 250 Pro/Am class heat race and a seventh-place finish in 450 class race.

Weaver already has clinched the title of AFM’s Top Novice in six of seven rounds. He has broken the track record at two of the three tracks he has raced at and holds the track record at Infineon raceway with a 1:56.447.

Weaver now is preparing for round seven of the AFM series at Thunderhill raceway next weekend.
