Violette runs personal best for Falcons

Austin Violette ran a personal best and placed eighth to lead the Forest Lake Christian Falcons to a top-10 overall team finish in the Division III, IV and V race at the Nevada Union Cross Country Invitational.

The Falcons took first place among Division V schools.

Violette finished in 17 minutes, 51 seconds. Teammate Zac Ponce followed in 19:51 for 45th place and Ashton Santee took 60th place in 21:31.

Dawson Young placed 73rd (23:08) followed by Amos McCamey and Robert Ring in 81st and 83rd place.

In the girls frosh/soph race, Annie Pearce and Noelle Hayes finished 141st and 157th for the Falcons. The Falcons did not field a varsity team in the meet.

FLC’s next meet is Sept. 20 at the Bret Harte Invitational in Angel’s Camp. The girls race will begin at 11 a.m. and the boys race will start at 11:20.
