Also on the horizon is District 11 All-Star tournament play, along with Nevada County Girls Softball Association All-Star tournaments.

Blood drive today helps father of former Miners

Friends of Mike Ulinski will hold a blood drive at the Nevada Union High School student parking lot from 3-7 p.m. today. Mike was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma, and he is currently undergoing treatment in Little Rock, AR.

Mike and Mary Ulinski had three children graduate from Nevada Union High School; for four years, they headed the Grad Night celebration for Nevada Union High School seniors. The Ulinski family was also involved in soccer, volleyball, and football.

Blood drive results here in Nevada County will be directly credited to Mike during his stay in Arkansas, so the blood drive is an opportunity for our community to help the Ulinski family.
