Teens get recognition

I would just like to acknowledge a group of teens that ran in the Daffodil Race in Penn Valley, age-group 13-18, 5K race.

A big shout out to Kayla and Jared Sanders. Both recovering from a pervious bout of pneumonia and gave it their all at this race. Jared came in overall 36, and Kayla came in overall 61, taking second place in her age group.

Brittney Whitlock came in overall 39 and won first place in her age division. Determination and spirit will take you places Britt.

Jocelyne Montre, who came in overall 97 and beat her last year time by two minutes. Thank you girls for participating and having fun.

Leeann Castle came in overall 147 and has never ran in a race before. I’m sure we will be seeing her next year.

Just a shout out to these special kids who took their Sunday and made it something special. I am so proud of each and every one of you. And a big congrats to all the rest of the teens that participated in this year’s Daffodil Run.
