Spoto 3rd on beam at meet

After qualifying during the fall season, the Gold Country girls gymnastics team headed back to Oroville for the 2012 Level 4 NorCal State Meet.

Casey Spoto was impressive on the beam, scoring a 9.05 and earning a tie for third place. On the floor, Spoto scored a 9.325 and finished with an overall 35.775.

Amira Afshartabar scored a 9.050 on the floor and an 8.9 on the vault and finished with an all-around score of 35.150.

Samantha Gobert tallied a 9.1 on the floor to go with a 9.025 on the vault, finishing with an all around 34.175.

Hailey Spoto notched a score of 8.925 on the beam and an 8.75 on the floor and closed with an all-around 34.175.

Alissa Vandra scored a 9.225 on the floor and an 8.875 on the vault and finished with an all-around 34.125.

Katelyn Carter vaulted to an 8.675, scored an 8.25 on the beam and wrapped up with an all-around 33.225.

Megan Kiser scored an 8.575 on the floor and an 8.350 on the vault and finished with an all-around 32.075.

To qualify for the NorCal Meet, gymnasts must have scored at least 34.5 all around during the fall meet in Oroville.

Coaches may submit game reports by email at or by phone at (530) 477-4232. Deadline for submission is 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5 p.m. Sunday.
