Sports Shorts – NU girls soccer starts season with shutout against Placer

The Nevada Union girls soccer team open its 2005 season with a 3-0 win against Placer.

Courtney Paquin put the Miners on the board first with Natalie Fick getting credit for the assist. Erica Good put the Miners up 2-0 going into halftime, with Leigh Collins setting her up. Fick scored a goal of her own to put Nevada Union up 3-0 with Casey Rogers on the assist.

In the goal during the first half, Christi Giuliani tallied three saves and in the second half, Ginny Harris grabbed one save.



The Miners hit the field again Feb. 22nd at Marysville.
