The Sierra Foothill Swim League Championships will hit the Granite Bay High School pool this Saturday, as six area youth swim teams vie for the championship.

The Lake of the Pines Piranhas are the seven-time defending champions and will compete against the Grass Valley Orcas, the Lake Wildwood Otters, the Auburn Lake Trails Dolphins, the Foresthill Stingrays and the Auburn Racquet Club Sharks.

More than 800 swimmers are expected to compete.

Competition begins at 9 a.m. Saturday.

To get there:Take I-80 westbound to the Eureka Road exit (loop back over the freeway) and go southeast on Eureka Road. Cross Douglas and Sierra College boulevards. At the stop sign, continue south on Wellington Way. The school in on your left.
