Maynard races despite break

His doctor told him to sit out the snowboarding national finals, but Nevada Union’s Marco Maynard competed, broken wrist and all, and finished 15th Tuesday in the slalom.

Maynard broke his wrist Sunday when he caught his arm on a gate during training at Squaw Valley.

He’s headed back to the doctor, he said.
