Forest Lake Christian soccer takes homecoming matchup, 8-0

Forest Lake Christian’s varsity soccer team downed Central Valley Christian League Sacramento Waldorf 8-0 for a homecoming victory Friday afternoon.

“We played awesome,” said FLC coach Thad Kopec. “It was one of those where you couldn’t have scripted it any better, how well we played.”

Ben Sparling had three goals for the Falcons, while Danny Messina scored the first goal of the match on a header. Also scoring goals for FLC were Andrei Yaholkovsky, Brandon Hall, Austin Maynard, Matt Rose and Taylor Bigelow.

The first-place Falcons (11-5-5 overall, 5-0-2 CVCL) now turn their focus to a key matchup Tuesday against second-place Victory Christian (13-3-3, 4-1-2).


FLC 3, Foresthill 1

Forest Lake Christian scored a Central Valley Christian League victory over Foresthill Thursday in four games, 25-16, 20-25, 25-17, 25-16

Bethany Huusfeldt and Caitlin Hanson each had 7 kills in the win for the Falcons, while Jen Menary led the team in assists (22) and serving aces (9).

FLC improved to 14-9 and 8-2 with the victory.
