Hole in one

Al LaPlante of Nevada City landed his first hole in one Wednesday after 60 years of playing golf.

LaPlante, 77, said he couldn’t see his shot off the tee on hole number 10 at Beale Air Force Base – and then couldn’t find the ball anywhere around the green.

Then, he looked in the hole.

“I just said ‘Oh, there it is,'” LaPlante said.

LaPlante used an 8-iron to ace the 130-yard 10th hole.
