Services for the Blind

The fifth annual Gold Country Golf Classic, which benefits Sierra Services for the Blind, is set for 1 p.m. June 11 at The Ridge golf course in Auburn.

Among the top prizes offered at the tournament, which will be hosted by Mitch Juricich of “Hooked on Golf,” is a $10,000 reward for a hole in one, sponsored by the 1st U.S. Credit Union.

The event is sponsored by Thomson Grass Valley, B&C Home and Garden Center, KNCO, KAHI and The Union.

Cost is $125 per person ($135 after June 4), which includes golf, cart, driving range balls, putting contests, clinics, lunch and a banquet dinner.

Registration starts at 11 a.m. with a 1 p.m. tee time.

supports Burn Institute’s

‘Camp Beyond the Scars’

Coyote Run Golf Course at Beale Air Force Base will host the fourth annual York’s Driftwood Inn Charity Golf Tournament, which benefits the Burn Institute Children’s “Camp Beyond the Scars,” on June 24.

The four-person scramble tournament is set for a 9 a.m. shotgun start, although breakfast will be served at 7 a.m. to golfers who make reservations. A buffet dinner follows the tournament at York’s Driftwood Inn.

Cost is $95 per golfer, including golf, cart, buffet dinner and tee prizes, including awards for most-accurate drive and closest to the pin. All prizes will be awarded after buffet.
