Section signs title sponsor

Les Schwab Tires has agreed to be the title sponsor for the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section for the next three years, in an agreement reached earlier this month.

“On behalf of the Les Schawb Tire Company, it is my pleasure to express our excitement in being the title sponsor of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section,” said Les Schwab, president of the company, in a statement released to the media. “Throughout Northern California, we are proud to support our 403 high schools with more than 406,000 students.

“Each one of these students has dreams or goals they are trying to achieve. Whether in or out of the classroom, we join the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section in helping to provide tools to enrich our youth and to help make it possible that some of those dreams come true.”

The agreement is the second signed by the Sac-Joaquin Section this year, after inking a three-year deal with Lifetouch, as the official section photographer at championship events.

With the agreement, the SJS playoffs will carry the name of the company as the title sponsor.

“We are pleased to announce this title sponsor partnership agreement,” Section commissioner Pete Saco said. “Les Schwab tires is a great addition to our section, along with the other corporate sponsors already in place in our section.”

Other corporate sponsors for SJS events include 24-Hour Fitness, Macy’s, Wilson Sports and Tachikara.

The Sac-Joaquin Section, a non-profit organization, is one of 10 sections that form the California Interscholastic Federation, the governing body of high school athletics in California. The SJS oversees athletic programs of 168 member schools – including approximately 217,000 students – in its 20 leagues.
