Run for the Community scheduled for Saturday

Twin Cities Church is hosting its second annual 5K/10K Grand Prix Run and 5K Walk on Saturday, May 31st, starting at 8:30 AM. The proceeds will support the Community Impact Teams at Twin Cities Church, which provide valuable ministries to local HIV/AIDS patients, prisoners at the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility and Juvenile Hall, programs for local at-risk students, and the elderly in local care facilities.

All race courses begin and end at Twin Cities Church (located at 11726 Rough and Ready Highway in Grass Valley), and they will proceed through beautiful SunSmile Farms. The 10K will ambitiously head down towards the Kubich Mill – yes, there are hills on this course, but it is very scenic and a good challenge.

The day’s festivities will include a live band, free kids run, and great finish line refreshments, including homemade treats, lots of fruit, Gatorade, water, etc. There will be a timely award ceremony with medals for all three top finishers in each age division, plus awards for overall race winners for each race.

The pre-registration fee is $20, which includes a high quality dry release event T-shirt. You can go online at http://www.twincitieschurch.com, click on the “Run for the Community” picture/link, and it will take you to a page where you can get more information, view pictures from last year’s race, and/or download a registration form. You can also call (530) 273-6425, ext. 425 or e-mail communityrun@twincitieschurch.com.
