Rising Starz post strong showings

The Rising Starz Gymnastics Academy’s boys program Class 5 and 6 took first and Class 7 finished second on the home mat Sunday.

Eighty-five gymnasts from eight programs from around northern California competed.

In Class 5, Cameron Lewis won the all around title with score of 49.8.

Michael Tittle took second with a 49.8. Eric Gillespie finished third.

Ben Granholm won all six events en route to a overall score of 53.7 and all around Class 6 title in the nine year old age group. Chris Carcido won the six-through-eight year old age group with a total score 49.85. Skyler Awisus took third with a 47.55.

In Class 7, Cody Avery also won all six events and totaled 56.45 points en route to an all around title in the five-though-seven year old age group.

Tommy Callagy won the vault in the eight year old agre group. Jimmy Bamberg won the vault in the nine-and-over age group.

Nolan Watt finished with 44.9 in Class 3.

Jess Lopez and Danny Douros competed in the Elite division.
