Rising Starz gymnasts open season

Rising Starz Gymnastics competed at the River City Classic in Sacramento, which was the team’s first competition of the season. Rising Starz’ Level 5 team finished second, while the Level 6 squad finished third.

In the Level 5 children’s division, Jenna Jeffery won the all-around, taking first in the vault (8.60), and second place in both the balance beam (8.70) and the floor exercise (9.10). Christina Cena took second in the beam (8.70), while teammate Rachel Hadely finished third in the floor (8.90).

In Level 5 Juniors, Kendal Nielsen took third place in the vault (8.0) and fifth in the uneven bars (8.3) to finish sixth overall in the all-around competition, while teammates Demi-Rose Seghezzi took fourth place in the beam (8.75) and Allison Prichard finished fifth in the beam (8.5).



In Level 5 Senior, Abby Hedenland scored a fourth place finish in the vault (7.90).

Katherine Magill won the floor exercise (9.275) in the Level 6 Children’s category and finished second in the balance beam (8.50) to finished fourth in the all-around. Teammate Christie Nat finished fifth in the all-around, after taking second place in the floor (8.95) and third in the vault (8.45).




In Level 6 Seniors competition, Emily Baker was second in the all-around after finished second in the bars (8.075) and third in the vault (8.5).

Rising Starz will compete this weekend in Auburn.
