Rising Starz gymnasts finish high

Rising Starz Gymnastics competed over the weekend in the fifth meet of the season for levels five and six. It was the first meet for level four.

Level four took second place as a team, and first and second individually for Allie Malech and Kristyn Carl, respectively.

At level five, Demi-Rose Seghezzi took third place in the beam, with a score of 8.75, and fourth in the vault, with 8.25.

Level four’s Kristie Moen, who took fourth in the all-around competition, finished third in the bars and beam, and fourth in vault.

Also in level four in the nine-and-over division, Malech finished fourth in bars, second in beam, and third in floor, while Carl took third in vault, first in beam, and third in floor.

Local gymnast competes in Reno

Breya Simpson, a gymnast from Nevada County who competes with the Byers Roseville Gymanstics Team, took second place in the vault competition and all-around over the weekend at the Flips USA Gold Dust Competition in Reno.

Her team finished second out of 11 teams.
