REC BASKETBALL: Golden Fighters take C league title

The Golden Fighters battled their way to the Nevada County Adult Sports Association’s Summer League C Division championship last Sunday, beating Older School 57-48 in the title game.

The Golden Fighters, who were the top seed in the playoff bracket, were balanced in their offensive attack and it served them well. Adison Wolfe led all Golden fighters with 19 points, Nathan Sawi added 14 points, Colton Clouse tallied 10 and Andrea Lojacomo chipped in nine.

For Older School, Jeff Conklin poured in 17 points, Logan Edwards had 15 points and Michelle Wallace had seven points.



The Golden Fighters reached the championship game against Older School by beating Old School in the semifinals. Older School earned their spot in the title game by beating The Union in the semifinals.

Registration for Nevada County Adult Sports Association’s fall/winter sports is currently open.



The NCASA basketball and volleyball leagues get started the week of Oct. 16, but team registration is due by Oct.1. The flag football league’s registration is due by Oct. 15 and games get started in November.

Basketball leagues will include four tiers (A, B1, B2 and C), and the cost per team is $425.

Volleyball will include a 4-on-4 women’s league and a 4-on-4 coed league. Cost per team is $300.

The cost for flag football, which includes a 10-game season and playoffs, is $500 per team.
