After falling to Winters in a non-league road game last week, Colfax bounced back to roll Dixon 35-0 in another non-league game in Fairfield on Friday night.

The Falcons took control early once Marcus Jackson found Matthew Harshman 40 yards through the air early in the first quarter. The long pass play, help set up Timothy Rawlins’ 15-yard scamper into the end zone, giving Colfax a 7-0 lead.

The Falcons held on to that edge headed into the second quarter after blocking a Dixon field-goal attempt. On the ensuing possession, Colfax marched nearly the length of the field before Rawlins scored on a 10-yard run.

Midway through the second quarter, the senior running back punched in another score. This time Rawlins ran it in from the 5-yard line to give Colfax a 21-0 lead.

But the Falcons didn’t stop there.

With 28 seconds remaining in the first half, Jackson hit Sam Lahie on a 63-yard touchdown strike and Colfax went into the locker room up 28-0.

Colfax pumped the brakes in the second half before scoring just once more in the game.

With the win, the Falcons improved to 2-1, and will prepare to host Golden Sierra next weekend.
