After battling from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. last Thursday, two Nevada Union doubles teams shared the tournament’s consolation championship in Foothill Valley League tennis action.

The Miners two outstanding doubles teams of brothers Kaid and Preston Reischman, and Nikita Khryapin and Max Wright each scored three victories on the day.

Head coach Dave Graham was very pleased with the performances of his tennis players.

“My top four players battled hard all day in the heat, and I’m proud of their efforts,” Graham said. “Rather than have Nevada Union play one another in the final, we decided to keep this award as co-champs.”

Coach Graham’s young team returns their entire squad next season. The Miners finished third in the Foothill Valley League standings this year and hopes are very high for the future of the tennis program.
