Forest Lake Christian’s tennis team found much success this season, going 7-2 in league matches and finishing second in the standings.

Sophomores Jordan Lenney, Ellie Wood and Annabelle Laputz were all undefeated in league play.

The team also benefited from returning seniors Breezy Adams and Emily Conway with four wins and only one loss in girl’s doubles play this season.

Lenney, Wood and Laputz all advanced to the singles league finals and Sac-Joaquin Section qualifier on Wednesday following strong performances earlier in the week.

On the girls side, it was an all FLC final with Wood, the No. 1 seed, winning 6-1, 6-0 over No. 2 seed Laputz.

In boys play, No. 1 seed Lenney, a sophomore, faced off with Sac Country Day’s Leo Eisner. After a season of never dropping a set, Lenney played a spirited close match, winning the first set 6-2, losing the second set 4-6 and falling in a close third set tie-breaker, 8-10.

Wood, Lenney and Laputz have all qualified for the Section’s individual tourney beginning next Thursday in Stockton and will be joined by Adams and freshman Collin Lowery, who also won the mixed doubles bracket.

As a squad, the Falcons will play Bear River in the Section’s team playoffs at 4 p.m. Monday at Bear River.
