Nevada Union’s baseball team jumped out to an early lead and held on down the stretch to top Foothill League foe Lincoln, 4-0, Tuesday.

The Miners plated a run in the first inning, two more in the third and made it 4-0 with another run in the fourth. The Zebras charged back with two in the top of the seventh inning, but that was as close as they would get.

Noll earned the victory from the mound, tossing a complete game, allowing nine hits and two earned runs while striking out nine.

The Miners (12-9, 5-5 FVL) played an evening game against Union Mine Wednesday, and are in Lincoln today for another bout with the Zebras.
