Prep Roundup: Bruins shut out Mustangs Pioneer Valley League baseball

Bear River’s varsity boys baseball team blanked the Foothill Mustangs 11-0 Thursday in Pioneer Valley League action.

Clay Corippo, a junior, picked up the win on the mound, throwing five innings of no-hit ball while striking out five and walking two.

The Bruins were led at the plate by Aaron Sasaville, who drove in two runs and scored another. Justin Dooley had a triple, while Scottie Sanstead and Bradley Dzioba both doubled.

Bear River (6-15 overall, 5-6 league) travels to first-place Lincoln (16-6, 11-0) Tuesday in PVL play.


Colfax 242, Bear River 256

Colfax defeated Bear River Thursday in Pioneer Valley League competition at The Ridge, a par-36 course in Auburn.

Bruin junior David Aldrich shot a 44 for medalist honors. Also scoring for Bear River were Hunter Monts (47), James Lavelle (48), Tyler Cross (56) and Devin Crabb (61).

Bear River closes out the regular season with a 2-6 record. The Bruins will compete in the second PVL tournament of the season on Monday at Diamond Oaks.
