Prep Roundup: Mitchell leads Bruins girls X country to 14th place

Breanne Mitchell led the Bear River girls cross country team to a 14th place finish by finishing fifth place at Saturday’s Stanford Invitational.

Mitchell had a time of 18:51. She was followed by Seaera Moe (36), Harla Moe (96), Elizabeth Boyer (143), Sierra Mitchell (158).

The Bruin boys team was led by Jordan Halleib who finished 120th with a time of 18:11. He was followed by Alex Coffman (140).

Bear River junior varsity 2

Bear River girls varsity defeated Bear River’s junior varsity team 5-2 at the finals at Antelope High School Saturday.

Varsity goalie Brittany Tyra had nine saves.

The varsity team’s scoring was led by Jessica Marso who scored two goals. Cheyenne and Cassidy Rogers, and Haley Jungers, each had one goal.

Junior varsity goalie Patti Southworth had one save in goal and Cindy Solomon scored a goal.

So, Bear River was able to bring home a first and second place trophy.

Granite Bay 1

Nevada Union boys’ soccer lost 6-1 to Granite Bay Friday.

Riley Robinson got the assist on his own goal for the Miners’ only score.

The junior varsity team lost 2-0 to Granite Bay.
