PREP ROUNDUP: Forest Lake Christian soars past Delta

The Forest Lake Christian girls soccer team has been on a tear of late, winning their last four league games by a combined score of 31-1.

Most recently the Lady Falcons downed Delta, 6-1, to avenge their only league loss this season.

Leading FLC against Delta was Amber Jackson with three goals, Autumn Green with two goals and Alysse Moore with one goal.



During FLC’s recent four-game league winning streak, Jackson has 13 goals, Green has 11 and Moore has six.

The Lady Falcons get back at it Monday at Woodland Christian.



Girls basketball

JV: Oak Ridge 44, Nevada Union 43

After falling to Oak Ridge in their first meeting 56-28, the Nevada Union junior varsity Lady Miners came up just short Thursday night losing 44-43 in a well played, physical game from start to finish.

Nevada Union led 25-17 at the half, but fell behind in the third quarter and went to the fourth trailing 35-31. The game was tied with less than 10 seconds to go when Oak Ridge sank the deciding free throw.

Jordan Lucas led NU with nine points and eight rebounds, six of which came on the offensive end. Isabelle Thole also scored nine points. Leah Ellis netted eight points, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out four assist and had five steals. Savannah Betito chipped in with seven points and played outstanding defense on a variety of Oak Ridge’s leading scorers throughout the game.

NU is now 15-9 on the season and 4-5 in SFL play. Next up is a home game against Folsom on Monday.
