Prep roundup: Forest Lake Christian edges Bear River on pitch

The Forest Lake Christian boys soccer team eked out a 1-0 victory against Bear River Tuesday, earning the Falcons some bragging rights over their neighboring high school.

Forest Lake Christian’s Daniel Marriot netted the winning goal on a free kick.

“He really bent it in there,” said FLC head coach Steve Koch.

Pitching the shutout was a combined effort from FLC goalies Noah Hussain and Kyle Soria. Hussain played the first half and Soria took over in the second half.

“He really saved our bacon a couple times,” Koch said of Soria.

The win improves the Falcons to 4-3 on the season, and they hit the pitch again Friday to face Nevada Union.
