Prep roundup: Bear River, FLC girls volleyball earn wins

The Bear River girls volleyball team made quick work of West Campus Thursday, beating the Warriors in straight sets, 25-12, 25-16, 25-20.

Leading the Lady Bruins was Kaely Rath with 14 kills, Ashley Albee added nine kills and Lily Morgado chipped in five kills in the win.

The victory improves Bear River to 6-5 overall in non-league play. The Lady Bruins take the court again Tuesday when they face Woodcreek.

The Lady Falcons earned their first win of the season Thursday night, beating Sac Adventist in straight sets.

FLC was led by Alysse Moore with five kill sand five aces. Hailey Adams added four kills and two blocks, and Emily O’Neill led the team in assists with 14.

Nevada Union girls forfeit match with Folsom

The Lady Miners have forfeited four matches this season due to a lack of participation, but that isn’t stopping a handful of NU players from competing anyways.

NU’s Lindsey Smith led the Lady Miners, shooting a career best 48 Thursday at Alta Sierra Country Club and finishing third overall in the match against Folsom.

The Bulldogs’ Katie Miller was the day’s medalist with a 40.

Lincoln 259, Bear River 285

The Lady Bruins took on Lincoln Wednesday at Turkey Creek, falling to the Lady Zebras by 26-strokes.

Leading Bear River was Malone Pearson with a 51. Shelby Lampson was second on the team with a 54 and Olivia Naves scored a 55.
