Prep golfers off to mixed links start

Nevada Union freshman Erik Flores shot a three-over-par 75 and tied for fifth overall to lead the the western Nevada County contingent at the Rocklin Invitational at Sunset Whitney Country Club Monday.

The MIners finished in the middle of the pack with a team score or 419.



Bear River, led by Ryan Hueseveldt’s 78, was right behind with a total of 423.




The Bruins’ Steve Chan shot a 81, two strokes ahead of NU’s Pat Jorgensen.

NU’s Mike Pietrek and Bear River’s Ben Honey each carded 84s. Allen Tourtilott was a stoke behind for the Miners with an 85.

Bear River’s Travis Wright (88), Andy Polisso (92) and Tom Eisenhower (95) also competed.
