Post 130 leaves El Dorado with pair of American Legion losses

Grass Valley’s Post 130 American Legion baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader Saturday at El Dorado High School.

Post 130 ended up on the short end of an 11-9 score in game on, as Mike Graning picked up the loss on the mound after striking out six and allowing seven earned runs in seven innings of work. Graning went 2 for 4 at the plate, while Josh Gauldin and Daniel Rackley each doubled for Grass Valley.

In game two, El Dorado was a 10-0 winner, with Grass Valley’s Rackley drawing the defeat, after allowing five earned runs while striking out six in five innings on the mound. Graning was 2 for 3 in game two, while Rackley added a double.

Grass Valley gets back in action at 5:30 p.m. today, when Post 130 travels to Del Oro for a make-up game.

With a win, Post 130 (6-9) will finish in third place in league play and open playoff action Friday. A loss leaves Grass Valley in fourth place with a Thursday playoff start.
