Pengelley earns state title in 2 events

The Golf Country boys gymnastics team sent two members to the Level 7 State Championships in Oroville last weekend.

Brandon Pengelley, competing in Level 7 (13-18 year olds), became a state champion in the rings event with a score of 9.5, and also earned state champion honors on the hi-bar with a score of 9.25. Pengelley also was third on the vault with an 11.7, and finished fourth all-around with a total score of 52.95.

Nathan Arthur, Competing in Level 7 (11-12 year olds), finished the competition with a 52.3 all-around, 9.3 on the floor exercise, 11.45 on the vault, and an 8.55 on the pommel.



Pengelley and Arthur both qualified for the regional championships, which will take place in Ontario, California April 9-12.
