Chad Anderson has been proven to be a double threat of the Bear River football team lately.

The junior, who began the season as a starter on both the offensive line and at linebacker, was pressed into service at fullback three Fridays ago.

He’s rushed for 154 yards on 33 carries and scored four touchdowns in that span. He’s also third in the Pioneer Valley League in total tackles with 102.

Joe Dolan, a senior wide receiver at Nevada Union, upped his touchdown total to 11 on a pair of scoring strikes from Jon Sheets in the Miners’ 34-0 win over Yuba City Nov. 16.

His touchdown total puts him in a tie with Oak Ridge’s Marcus Spain for the second- most touchdowns by a receiver in the Sacramento area.

Oakmont1s (Roseville) James Harris is tops with 15 touchdown receptions.

Matt Freitas stood tall for the Nevada Union boys cross country team at the Sac-Joaquin Subsection meet in Angels Camp Nov. 16.

He posted a time of 16 minutes, 34 seconds over the 2.9-mile course. He took 10th place overall and led the Miners to a fourth-place finish in the in the Division I team event.
