NU soccer takes care of business

Nevada Union’s varsity soccer squad didn’t have much trouble in taking care of business against Marysville Monday night, as the Miners rolled up a 6-1 victory.

Jacob Kirishian led the way with two goals in the match.

“Overall, we dominated the whole game,” said first-year NU coach Ben Hajduk. “We scored the six goals in the first half and just worked on clock management and controlled the ball from there.”

Jair Cortez, Christian Grapel, Corey Mortara and Nick Harris each scored goals in the win for Nevada Union, which improved to 3-3-1 in the nonleague portion of the schedule.

The Miners host Forest Lake Christian at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
