NU golf tops Casa on the road

Erik Flores and Spencer Westcott shot a pair of one-under-par 35s to lead the Miners to a 13-stroke victory over Casa Roble Tuesday at Mather Air Force base.

Teammate Pat Jorgensen carded a 36, and Cole Voors added a 42 in the win.

“This keeps us alive in the hunt for a team sub-section berth,” NU golf coach Hank Davidson said. “But we’ll need help from other teams because of what happened Monday.”

Monday, NU finished fifth out of seven teams in the second Capital Athletic League meet, held at Brookside Country Club in Stockton. Flores (who shot 77 Monday), Westcott (81), and Jorgensen (82) have already qualified as individuals for the sub-section meet.
