NU golf takes 2nd, BR takes 5th in league tourneys

Nevada Union took second Monday in the Capital Athletic League golf tournament at Sierra View in Roseville.

Erik Flores and Spencer Westcott tied for third out of 42 golfers with 3-over-par 75s.

Teammates Pat Jorgensen (77), Ben McNulty (81), and Allen Tourtilott (85) added to the strong showing, which keeps the team in contention for a sub-section berth.

The Bear River boys golf team turned in a combined score of 405 to take fifth in the Sierra Foothill League Tournament, also at Sierra.

Granite Bay won the team competition with a score of 387.

Ryan Heuseveldt led the way for the Bruins with a six-over-par 78. Tom Eisenhower was right behind with a 79.

Steve Chan (81), Ben Honey (82) and Andy Polisso (85) also scored for Bear River. Jeff Remillard carded an 87.
