NU golf falls in tiebreaker

The Miners finished action at Alta Sierra Country Club Tuesday tied with visiting Woodcreek 269-269, but moving the scoring to the sixth golfers gave Woodcreek the Sierra Foothill League victory.

“That’s a tough way to lose,” said NU coach Hank Davidson. “I’ve won and lost like that. It’s tough, but that’s the way it goes.”

Freshman Chelsea Love earned medalist honors with a 42, while Haley Shadburne shot a 53 for the Miners. Christina Miller finished with 54, Victoria McKinzie 57 and Sydney Zink a 63. Madeline Wagnecht shot a 66 in the sixth position, which was five strokes off Woodcreek’s sixth score.
