NU football wins community service award

The Nevada Union football program has been chosen as the 2013 recipient of the CIF Dick Nelson Community Service Award.

The team will be honored Jan. 15 in Stockton, will receive $500 and enjoy a breakfast with the Sac-Joaquin Section staff, NU athletic director Steve Pilcher said.

The Nevada Union girls volleyball team was the runner up for the award from the Sac-Joaquin Section.
