NU boys volleyball downs West Campus

Nevada Union’s varsity boys volleyball team stayed unbeaten in Capital Valley Conference action with a three-game sweep of visiting West Campus Wednesday.

The Miners (3-6 overall, 2-0 CVC) downed the Warriors 25-10, 25-9, 25-21.

“We have the UC-Davis tourney this weekend, so we worked on some stuff that might help us in that tournament,” NU head coach Kelly Rhoden said. ” In the third game we were able get everybody in there.”

NU swept through thanks to strong play from a trio of juniors. Sam Hochwald drove home seven kills, Graham Davis had six and Tim Lamphier served up 15 service points, including 12 consecutive serves in game two.

The Miners serve into the 30-team UC-Davis tourney Saturday morning.
