Noud nails BR hat trick

Meaghan Noud notched a hat trick and Nicole Scott had eight saves in goal as the Bear River girls soccer team beat visiting Placer of Auburn 3-0 in Monday’s Sierra Foothill League opener.

Noud put the hosts up in the 28th minute on a pass from Stacey Grimes.

The junior followed that up with unassisted goals in the 45th and 68th minute, respectively, to seal the win.

“It took about 10 minutes for the team to get its bearings, but after that they (found the groove),” Lady Bruins head coach Rick Holland said. “We played solid team defense and did a great job controlling the ball in the midfield to get Meaghan the ball.”
