Nevada Union girls’ hoop camp coming in June

Nevada Union High School will be the site for the annual NU Lady Hoops Basketball Camp set for June 20-23.

Players in grades 6-10 (school year 2005-06) are eligible to participate at a cost of $125 per camper. The camp will meet from 11a.m.-2 p.m. for grades 9-10, and 2-5 p.m. for grades 6-8, Monday through Thursday in NU’s Ali and West gymnasiums.

The camp will emphasize balance and footwork, ball handling and shooting skills, fast-break principles, defense, and teamwork. Campers will receive quality instruction from a coaching staff that includes Nevada Union Lady Miner head coach Duwaine Ganskie, NU assistant coaches, and Lady Miner varsity basketball players.

NU Lady Hoops Shooting Clinic




set for May 9-12

Nevada Union Lady Miner basketball coach Duwaine Ganskie will be conducting a Shooting Clinic for girls’ grades 6-9, May 9-12.

The clinic sessions will meet from 3:30-5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday in NU’s Ali gymnasium. The cost is $75 ($60 for Amateur Athletic Union members).

The clinic will stress the proper skills and techniques necessary for players to develop into confident, proficient, shooters. Only shooting will be stressed at the four day clinic.

Enrollment is limited to the first 40 players registered.
