NCLL Challenger Division opens play Sunday

Nevada City Little League Challenger Division baseball is launching its 13th season.

The goal of the program is to provide players with disabilities an opportunity to learn the sport of baseball, have fun, get exercise and learn good sportsmanship in a family-friendly atmosphere. The season starts with a skills clinic at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Pioneer Park in Nevada City. This year’s clinic has been designated as the Jud Emery Memorial Clinic Sunday, a fundraiser for the Trevor Emery Special Needs Trust.

Regular season games are on Sundays, beginning April 19 and will continue through May 31. The Little League Division games are at 1:30 p.m. and the Senior Division play at 3 p.m. All games are played on the upper field at Pioneer Park.
