Motor Sports Report: Sweet return nets third place among Outlaws

Nevada County native Brad Sweet returned to Northern California, finishing third in a World of Outlaws Sprint Series feature race Thursday at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico.

Sweet, a former Bear River High School wrestling star who has raced successfully in the USAC Sprint and Midget car series for Kasey Kahne Racing, took the third spot in the Thursday’s 410 Sprints “A” feature.

Sweet also finished second in a heat race and 10th in a 410 Sprints Dash race that day.



In three days of World of Outlaws Sprint Series racing at the Chico race track, Sweet also posted a 15th place finish in the 410 Sprints “A” feature race on Friday and a 23rd place finish in the “A” feature race on Saturday.

He took fifth in a heat race on Friday.




The World of Outlaws racing series features numerous races from February through early November. It concludes with World Finals in Concord, N.C.

Grass Valley’s Jeremy Burt brought back a first-place finish from Antioch Speedway Saturday night in the 360 Winged Sprints main event.

Before taking the checkered flag in the feature race, Burt finished third in his heat race.
