Miners fall to Wolves

The Nevada Union boys basketball team led host Woodland by double-digits after the first 16 minutes, but couldn’t maintain it in a 53-50 loss Wed-nesday.

NU (11-7 overall, 3-1 Metro Conference) entered the game alone atop league standings, but may have have been caught looking ahead to looked ahead to Friday’s league showdown with Yuba City, head coach Jeff Dellis said.

“I think we were looking past (Woodland) a little bit,” he said. “Offensively we weren’t patient. We’re a much better team inside-outside team, but tonight we were content to shoot the quick 3-pointer,” he said.

NU will host Yuba City 7 p.m. Friday.

FLC downs Faith Christian

Mark Boatman scored a team-high 21 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Forest Lake Christian boys basketball team to a 57-55 win over host Faith Christian (Yuba City) Tuesday.

The Falcons will play at Woodland Christian 8 p.m. Friday.
