Masch hopes to see first action in Hawaii-USC opener

Tonight’s college football season opener between the USC Trojans and the host Hawaii Warriors offers a local angle for football fans tuning into the 8 p.m. ESPN game.

Nevada Union graduate Zach Masch, a 6-foot, 2-inch, 290-pound junior defensive lineman with the Warriors, hopes to see his first action after redshirting during the 2009 season.

Masch, who starred at Arizona Western Community College in Yuma, Ariz. for two years before landing a scholarship with Hawaii, will wear No. 47 with the Warriors.
