Forest Lake Christian’s tennis team scored a 7-2 victory against Capital Christian on Monday.

Each of the Falcons’ four singles players – two boys and two girls – won.

Nick Coibion, the No. 1 boy, won 7-6, 1-7, 6-2. At the No. 2 boys spot Thomas Coibion won 6-2, 6-1.

The No. 1 girl, Megan Wieczorek, won 7-6, 2-7, 6-4, and the No. 2 girl, Torrey Haddad, won 6-3, 6-4.

In doubles the No. 1 boys team of Matt Rose and Mark Huntsinger dominated 10-0. The No. 2 boys team of Kit Boyd and Johnny Lehmer won 10-5.

Chelsea Hanson and Ali Robinson, Forest Lake Christian’s No. 1 girls team, won 10-7.

The Falcons lost the No. 2 girls doubles match and forfeited the mixed doubles match.

Forest Lake Christian hosts Golden Sierra at 2:30 p.m. today.


Miners take fourth

in Metro match

Nevada Union’s boys golf team finished in fourth place out of five schools Monday in the fourth Metro League meet.

Granite Bay won with a team score of 392. At 396 Yuba City took second, Kennedy was third with 427, NU totaled 441, and McClatchy came in fifth at 511.

The Miners were led by D.J. Milligan’s 80. Gavin Butcher hit a round of 84, Ryan Walker shot 87, and John Hyland 88.

Nevada Union’s next match is Monday at Yuba City.
