Local gymnasts shine at West Coast Championships

Five members of the Gold Country Girls Gymnastics team closed the season with a strong effort at the USAIGC West Coast Championships held at Redlands East Valley High School in Redlands, Calif.

Competing in the Gold Level (13/14 year olds) Kylie Lamb won the West Coast vault championship for the second year in a row. Lamb also fared well in the floor exercise with a mark of 8.85 and finished seventh all-around.

Ali Vandra is also a West Coast champion after winning the beam event in the Gold Level (11/12 year olds). Vandra also placed second on the vault and took third all-around.



In the Silver Level (12-year olds), Sammy Gobert finished sixth all-around. Gobert placed seventh on the vault, fifth on the beam and sixth in the floor exercise. In the same Level, Clara Luisetti finished seventh all-around after placing fifth on the vault and fourth on the bars.

Elsie Luisetti competed in the Silver Level (10 year olds) and placed eighth all-around. She earned seventh on the vault and fifth on the bars.




The USAIGC West Coast Championships was the final competition of the season for the girls team.
