Little League: Zolldan shines as Bear River A’s top PV White Sox

On Wednesday night at Western Gateway Park, the Bear River A’s battled past the Penn Valley White Sox in Little League action, winning 4-1.

A’s starting pitcher Reid Zolldan tossed four strong innings, allowing one run while fanning nine White Sox batters. He also added a double and a two-run home run, helping his cause with two RBIs.

Mason Harrison came in for a rock-solid two innings of relief, allowing no runs and striking out three batters.



The Bear River A’s produced only six hits against the White Sox pitchers, who tallied six strikeouts on the night.

Damian Christen, Jacob Whitman and David Aldrich all added singles for the A’s.




Nathan Van Patten added a mammoth triple to spark the A’s, adding an RBI. Caleb Edwards smoked a single to add an RBI to round out the A’s scoring.

With the win, the A’s remain tied with the Brewers at 17-2 overall. Both the A’s and the Brewers have two games remaining with the top two spots in the Tournament of Champions hanging in the balance.
