Little League under way

The Bear River Little League majors’ baseball squads kicked off play last week with three games.

The Braves defeated White Sox, 18-6; the Rockies beat the Diamondbacks, 6-3; and the Yankees beat the Indians, 9-2.






Braves 18,

White Sox 6

In the first game, the Braves were led by Kenny Giacomini, who went 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBIs and a double. Matt White also had a double.

Dalto Wirick was the winnig pitcher. Wirick went four innings with 10 strikeouts and allowed one run.

Rockies 6, Diamondbacks 3

In the second game, the Rockies were paced by Scott Miller (2 of 3, two RBIs), Matt Soloman (2-for-2, double, RBI) Justin Schuler (2 of 3, RBI), and Brandon Johnson (2 of 3).

Dylan Ozanich was the winning pitcher. He had nine strikeouts.

For the Diamondbacks, Robert Stoddart had a triple.

Yankees 9, Indians 2

Andrew Ritchart was the winning pitcher for the Yankees and also paced the team with 2-for-3 hitting, including a triple and three RBIs. Zachary Welz also went 2 for 3, with a home run and one RBI.
