Little League coverage on mark

(Re: Bear River Illuminated) Let’s start with why the negative come-down on The Union sports staff when they were clearly only reporting boxscores, which a good baseball person wants to know. I found the article (“Bear River eliminated,” The Union, July 19) not only great, but factual.

Then to blanket it with the phrase, “To exalt one is to disparage another,” well let’s just say, “You win some. You lose some. Get over it. Some days are just not your day in baseball.”

The saying at our house is, “You’re only as good as your last at bat, or appearance”, either way, get out there, and work harder, if that is what you want. No crying, no bragging.

You should not protect your children from the reality of truth, the truth is always the best, kids are resilient, a good relief pitcher deserves praise, as does the reporter from The Union.

The coverage of the Little League playoffs was the best we’ve had in years. Every morning I had to go out and buy a paper just to find out how the kids from Nevada County did the night before! “Kudos” to the sports department of The Union. Job well done! And remember, “No crying in baseball.”
