Latest update on college athletes from area

Here is a look at how some college athletes with local ties fared over the weekend.

Football

Matt Massari – The University of California-Davis



Nevada Union, (’98)

The grayshirt sophomore running back tallied his fourth straight 100-plus-yard rushing game with 180 yards on 27 carries with a pair of touchdowns in the Aggies’ 31-28 win over St. Marys (Calif.).




Spencer Havner – UCLA

Nevada Union (’01)

The redshirt freshman totaled nine tackles and returned an interception 42 yards in the Bruins’ 34-24 win over the University of Washington.

Matt Logue – California State University-Sacramento

Bear River (’02)

Logue, freshman linebacker, tallied a career-high nine tackles in the Hornets’ 31-30 loss to Montana State University.

Volleyball

Ashley Bello -The University of San Francisco

Forest Lake Christian (’01)

The sophomore outside hitter finished with 14 kills in the Dons’ four-game loss to the University of San Diego.

Amber Donovan – Westmont College of Santa Barbara

Forest Lake Christian (’02)

Donovan, a freshman setter, had a team-high 24 assists to go along with five digs and a kill in a three-game loss to Fresno Pacific University.

Cross country

Tom Hummel – California Polytechnic University – Pomona

Nevada Union (’02)

The freshman took 35th overall at the California Collegiate Athletic Association championships with a time of 27 minutes, 2.26 seconds.
