Lake Wildwood golf tourney supports veterans injured in battle

On Wednesday, more than 125 golfers will tee off at Lake Wildwood Country Club in support of veterans, as the Lake Wildwood 18-hole Men’s Club hosts the Injured Veterans Golf Tournament.

The event, which starts with an 11:30 a.m. luncheon with Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale), is geared to support veteran Adam Keys, who was injured in Afghanistan. In 2014, the tournament raised $24,000 for another veteran, Joshua Hotaling. Also on hand for Wednesday’s tournament will be Medal of Honor Award winner Major James Taylor, a Vietnam veteran.

Cost is $100 per golfer and includes lunch, golf and an awards dinner. Tee time is set for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Wildwood. According to tournament organizer Dan Pray, there are spots still available on the roster. Visit for information, or call 530-432-1163.
